There just aren’t any good arguments for removing matchmaking, they invariably boil down to some crude level of “fuck you, got mine” I look forward to someone posting about progression content here at some point , or fears about the content being nerfed why nerf it when they can set up a spectrum of difficulty levels from filthy matchmaking casual to anointed mlg son? And here’s where you reveal the fact that you’re making a lot of assumptions about everyone who is against random matchmaking. There is no “fuck you, got mine” involved in this particular discussion. This isn’t a legitimate gating off of content. All it is, is requiring players to put in some effort to manually recruit two Fireteams. However even in doing that, Blizzard realized that you can’t just throw people together and have them succeed at the normal difficulty. So they had to lower the difficulty to ensure a higher success rate.

Destiny’s raids will not support online matchmaking with random players.

By Kevin Dunsmore on September 23, Destiny has been around for two years now, and Bungie has continued to refine the experience through updates, DLC free and paid , and the all-important expansions. Rise of Iron is the latest of these expansions, adding in a new campaign, new weapons and gear, and a few new features. What to learn a little bit more about the mysterious Traveller, or about the Golden Age of humanity? Fans have been asking for in-game access for the previous two years now, but Bungie has not commented on the possibility of this happening.

But alas, two years later, we still have to go browser surfing. Irrelevant activities have been a problem for a long time, and Bungie needs to fix it.

Bungie has responded to widespread calls to add matchmaking to Destiny’s raids, beginning with the Vault of Glass. The studio is “discussing” it.

However, choosing to delay the sequel’s release may actually be Destiny’s saving grace, allowing the developers time to further improve the game and hopefully continue listening to what players want most. Early on in Destiny, Guardians earn better gear, engrams, or upgrades as they work through quests, but once the max level is reached and all story quests completed, the usefulness of the loot diminishes dramatically.

This is why loot caves were so popular back in the day – Guardians could earn a lot of loot, most of which was garbage, but at least something that dropped was usually worth the effort. Adding insult to injury, once the traditional level cap of 40 is reached, a Guardians’ light becomes the real signifier of a Guardians’ level, with the current cap being But with light so intrinsically tied to gear, earning loot becomes the only path for leveling – making a player’s progress feel entirely random.

Whether playing through Heroic story missions, strikes, or even raids, increasing a Guardian’s light hinges entirely on what drops. That’s terribly frustrating and no way to incentivize players to keep playing Destiny.

Destiny Weekly Heroic Strikes Adding Matchmaking in Future Update

Random Article Blend When Destiny 2 arrives, it still won’t offer open matchmaking for some of the game’s more demanding modes. Despite that fact, Bungie has heard fans loud and clear and will be implementing a couple of new features they think will help solve the problem of traditionally solo gamers not being unable to enjoy certain modes.

And according to PvP Lead Lars Bakken, these features are pretty similar to the experience you would get out of a dating app. In the original Destiny , matchmaking was not offered for activities including Nightfall Strikes, Trials of Osiris and the big six-person Raids. Bungie has held since the beginning that this is due to the fact that they believe the most trying activities in the game require like-minded players to be grouped up before going in. That meant a lot of folks were unable to enjoy some of the game’s best content and, to combat that, Destiny 2 will offer both Clan support and a feature they’re calling Guided Games, where solo players can find a group on the lookout for someone to fill an extra slot.

Destiny developer Bungie is considering adding matchmaking for Raid events. Destiny’s ‘Vault of Glass’ Raid is currently a friends-only event for six people. In a post on the Bungie website.

It also puts a checkpoint right before every Press X to Not Die moment so that, even if you fail the quicktime event, you don’t lose more than a few seconds of progress. Arkham Series has a few. Several times in predator encounters, enemies that should notice Batman don’t, either because he’s too far away, or in the middle of a special takedown. Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins , after using a gadget to create a platform in the water, Batman will automatically aim straight for it if you glide at it.

City featured Riddler informants that could tell Batman where Riddler trophies were hidden, as long as the informant was the last enemy taken out in any encounter. This made battles with the informants frustrating, since the player would have to avoid targeting them until they were done.

Bungie have previously explained that the complexity and length of raids in Destiny means that matchmaking is not suitable. Instead, players would only likely be able to complete the raids with people they know and can communicate with effectively.

Hey Guardians, come back and visit The Tower! Eris is crying her three eyes out as she misses you. The Speaker wants to sell you motes, or just buy your shards. The Gunsmith will reforge your new weapons The Reef is shiny and new, but it doesn’t have a glowing purple ball. Xur has returned to the main Tower, offering an interesting mix of items, including his first House Of Wolves Exotic. But before you spend coins on it, you may want to have your Motes ready.

Xur is located in center Tower, over by the Crucible Quartermaster. And here’s his deals: For the Hunter, it’s the Achlyophage Symbiote Helmet. For the Warlock, it’s the new item, Nothing Manacles. These are Void Sunbreakers basically, and give you an extra Scatter Grenade, and adds tracking to them as well. The roll is OK, but I would suggest buying the engram first.

Every week players will be able to choose from 6 Crucible game modes, instead of the 12 that are available now. If you own all expansions you will be able to access 5 other core playlists as well, which will also randomise each week but will feature the most popular playlists such as Clash, Control and Elimination. The video game developer Bungie admits that it is still considering adding matchmaking support for raids in its popular science fiction shooter Destiny.. Although always being on fans’ PvE.

Highlights include the addition of new shaders as well as the ability to preview shaders. Public events will now occur per cent more frequently. Bounty slots have increased from five to New shaders added to Eva Levante’s stock in the Tower. And you can now preview them before buying them. The update contains the new Iron Banner mode, but Bungie has yet to say when this will go live. Why is the update so huge? I expect we’ll see plenty of videos showing players finding these new areas before they’re supposed to. The new Destiny update is a big one.

Bungie Talks Raids and Other Post-Game Content in Destiny

Speaking to Edge magazine via Eurogamer , Bungie has confirmed that players’ loadouts will be locked when entering specific endgame missions, and the weekly Nightfall missions will be timed, too. This means that gamers are going to have to prepare more ahead of time and complete certain tasks quicker than they’d have to in the original game – meaning there will be less opportunity to ‘cheese’ enemies with exploits.

Bungie states these changes are intentionally added to make players adopt a more strategic approach to the game, significantly reducing how often they’ll how to replay the same content a big criticism fans had of the first game.

If you agree with the idea of adding matchmaking to raids, and want to see it in the game, leave a comment saying: “Add raid matchmaking.
